GeoWest Engineering Ltd is expanding and has a great opportunity for Geotechnical Engineers to complement our project engineering team in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island. We work as geotechnical and geostructural engineers on a large breadth of building, infrastructure, industrial, and land development projects. Who you are:
- Graduate of a recognized post-secondary engineering program with Bachelor of Science degree in geotechnical or geological engineering. Master Level Degree is desirable.Â
- Registered as a P.Eng. with EGBC.Â
- Superior and professional technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in the use of geotechnical software.
- Demonstrated successful track record with business development and proposals. Â
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments at one time, while ensuring project delivery on time and on budget.
- Strong, client-focused project direction and business development skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Team Player with the ability to work co-operatively with all staff.
- Highly motivated, takes on challenges with a positive attitude.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in a geotechnical capacity.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
What youâll be doing:
- Plan and manage geotechnical site investigations.Â
- Oversee construction monitoring of geotechnical aspects of construction.
- Geotechnical engineering, project management, project leadership and collaboration with staff and managers.
- Prepare geotechnical models and analyze problems using analytical geotechnical software.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports.
- Prepare and review competitive proposals.
- Develop and maintain a network of business contacts.
- Problem solving clientâs geotechnical concerns.
- Participate in and collaborate with staff on a variety of projects.
- Liaison with clients, government agencies, and subcontractors.
- Oversee and mentor junior staff.

We are leaders in geo-structure design including temporary shoring, retaining walls, and specialized deep foundation systems for sites with challenging conditions. GeoWest routinely conducts geohazard assessments to assess the feasibility of developing land with potential natural hazards.Â
